announce the Women Give Taos Impact Grant opportunity for 2024. Eligible Non Profit Organizations serving Women and Children in Taos and Western Colfax Counties are invited to apply for funding to support either an impactful and transformative project, or an enhancement of service proposal, meeting one of the WGT funding priorities. The Women Give Taos Grant funding opportunity 2024 will award one grant up to $30,000.00. Grants may be awarded to qualified 501(c) (3) nonprofit organizations in good standing, federally-recognized Indian tribes, fiscally sponsored organizations, public schools, and governmental agencies. Grants cannot be made to individuals. Applications must be submitted by February 4th 2024 at 5:00pm. Late applications will not be considered. Applications will be reviewed by the WGT Grants Committee for funding consideration, and final grant award recommendations will be made to the Taos Community Foundation Board by the Women Give Giving Circle membership. Through a formal application process that utilized a review committee of community members, the following organizations have received funding through this initiative: Las Cumbres Community Services – to recruit and retain clinicians with specialized expertise in Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health MAS Comunidad – to hire a new full time Community Resource Coordinator to organized improved access of community services in the Penasco area, and to support the Penasco Theatre Collective that will provide increased youth activity and mentorship opportunities. NM Immigrant Law Center – to increase staffing dedicated to enhanced outreach to immigrant families. De la Tierra a la Cosecha – a partnership of Taos County Economic Development Corporation, Taos Land Trust, Taos Valley Acequia Association and Allianza Agricultura de Taos. Funding will support educational efforts across the county related to regenerative agriculture, soil health and water use efficiency. Over $15,000 Awarded to 40 local Teachers!

Over $15,000 Awarded to 40 local Teachers! The Taos Public Education Fund, teacher grant cycle, was extremely successful this year. We received over 40 applications, with amazing community support. The TPEF Award event was held at the Taos Country Club on November 14th. As always, this was a very happy event, lively, fun, and well attended by recipients, donors, our Superintendent and one school board member. Awardees shared brief descriptions of their plans for use of the funds and we were all amazed by the passion, ingenuity, and innovation shown by the teachers. Projects ranged from calming and self -regulation activities and materials to science supplies books and garden projects, though there was also a need for basic materials and supplies, and there were several collaborative projects among the applications. Some of the teachers told stories about their ongoing work in building up science labs, art studios, music programs and community gardens, all made possible because of our support. 43 applications were received 40 applications were recommended for funding by TPEF committee 40 grants were awarded reflecting 8 local schools Click Here to view teacher event program
