Shuter Library of Angel Fire is an independent, incorporated, and registered 501(c)(3) organization providing free services to Angel Fire and the Moreno Valley. Though it operates as a public library, it is a private library whose revenue comes from donations, grants, and volunteer fundraising, rather than from municipal taxes.

Angel Fire Community Library was organized in 1978 in a back room of the Angel Fire Country Club by seven devoted local women. Over the next few years, in order to get it’s own library building, determined community members did extensive planning and fundraising. Angel Fire Resort donated the land to build the library and Shuter Construction built the building at cost. Countless volunteers donated time, energy, and money to get the library up and running. In July 2002, the brand new 3,000-square-foot Shuter Library of Angel opened to the public.

Shuter Library of Angel Fire is a wonderful success today thanks to their loyal patrons, volunteers who give thousands of hours of service, and their generous community and local merchants. Because of this generous support, Shuter Library offers many services to the Village of Angel Fire and the surrounding region. Library card are free and card-holders have access to more than 12,000 print and audiobooks as well as ebooks.
